KUWAIT CITY, May 26: Tonight marks the conclusion of the sixty-second edition of the Zain Premier League, featuring three matches in the championship group’s tenth and final round. Kuwait Club will kick off against Al-Arabi at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 7:27 pm. Meanwhile, the Friendship and Peace Stadium will witness clashes between Al-Salmiya and Al-Fahaheel at 5:50 pm, followed by the match between Al-Qadisiya and Al-Nasr at 8:50 pm.

The league standings were solidified after the last round, with Kuwait Club securing the title with 56 points, 7 points ahead of second-placed Al-Arabi. Al-Qadisiya holds third place with 51 points, while Al-Salmiya trails closely behind in fourth with 35 points. Al-Fahaheel sits in fifth place, and Al-Nasr holds sixth place with 25 points.

Kuwait Club celebrates its 19th league title. This remarkable achievement underscores the White Castle’s dominance in tournaments, particularly the league, attributed to its meticulous preparation and recruitment of talented local and international players.

The current season witnessed intense competition among three teams vying for the championship, with defending champions Al-Arabi and Al-Qadisiya battling for the top spot. The rivalry persisted throughout the season, with Al-Arabi leading for many rounds before Kuwait Club surged ahead five rounds from the end. The title race came down to the wire, culminating in Kuwait Club’s 3-0 victory over Al-Qadisiya and Al-Arabi’s 1-1 draw with Al-Fahaheel in the final round.

In the second match, Al-Fahaheel aims to secure victory against Al-Salmiya to clinch fourth place, while Al-Salmiya seeks a draw to maintain its position in the standings. In the third and final match, Al-Nasr confronts Al-Qadisiya in pursuit of their first league victory, having suffered seven defeats and one draw so far.
