ABU DHABI, Oct 18, (Agencies): Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena will host an extraordinary ‘R&B Evening’ on December 22, featuring Akon and Ne-Yo as the star performers during the World Tennis League. This musical extravaganza will close a day of remarkable tennis action from some of the world’s top talents.

These award-winning artists will join a lineup of world-class acts including 50 Cent, UB40 with Ali Campbell, The Original Wailers, and Trojan Sound System for the event on Yas Island. Akon, a globally renowned singer, songwriter, and producer, has captivated audiences worldwide with his distinctive blend of R&B, hip-hop, and pop for decades. He boasts numerous accolades, including multiple Billboard Music Awards.

In addition to his current hits like ‘Right Now’ (Na Na Na), ‘Lonely,’ and ‘I Wanna Love You,’ Akon’s discography includes a Grammy for his collaboration with Eminem on ‘Smack That.’ Ne-Yo, an R&B powerhouse, became a force to be reckoned with in the early 2000s, with his iconic ‘Let Me Love You.’ He is a three-time Grammy award winner, with his first win in 2007 for Best Contemporary R&B Album, ‘Because of You.’ His chart-topping single ‘Miss Independent’ earned him two more Grammys, including Best R&B Song and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

Ne-Yo will bring his biggest hits to the stage, including ‘So Sick,’ ‘Closer,’ ‘Time of Our Lives’ (featuring Pitbull), and ‘One in A Million.’ The ‘R&B Evening’ marks a unique reunion for Akon and Ne-Yo, as they share the same stage at Etihad Arena following their 2011 collaboration with David Guetta on the hit single ‘Play Hard.’ World Tennis League Chairman Rajesh Banga expressed his excitement, stating, “We are delighted to have Akon and Ne-Yo performing at this year’s edition of the World Tennis League. It promises to be an unforgettable night of entertainment for our fans.”
