Woman in custody for distributing leaflets – ‘Abnormal behavior’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: An unidentified woman has been referred to the State Security police for interrogation after she was caught distributing leaflets inside the Jahra Court, believed to be critical of the Al-Sabah ruling family, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a source the arrest came after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior was informed of the activity of the woman by the court officials after suspecting her abnormal behavior.

The daily added, after the security forces rushed to the court area, seized the woman and confiscated the leaflets. The woman allegedly sought protection from the Iraqi embassy.

According to the same source, the woman was taken to the area police station and then handed over to the State Security Service for interrogation and be informed by relevant bodies about her mental stability.
