Warning issued on fake news on social media

KUWAIT, May 26: The Communications Information Technology Commission Regulatory Authority (CITC) warned users of social media application (Twitter) against some widespread fabricated tweets attributed to government figures working which have mislead citizens from the real news.
The authority said in a press statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today, Tuesday, that it has monitored some accounts that create rumors and fake tweets and impersonate well-known personal accounts on social media.
The authority stressed that it will take the necessary measures towards blocking these accounts informing social media users to verify the authenticity of the tweets and published news and ensuring that they draw news from government sources (KUNA)
