Waiter assaulted, robbed at Jahra eatery

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: A 27-year old Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for attacking an Egyptian waiter of a fast food restaurant in Jahra area, attempting to steal his wallet and for stealing a fast food meal from the restaurant. According to security sources, the victim filed a case at Jahra Police Station against the suspect, providing security men with the suspect’s vehicle number and a medical report to indicate the injuries he sustained on his head. He explained that the suspect had ordered for a meal at the restaurant. When he took the meal to the suspect, the latter hit him on the head with an object and then tried to steal his wallet. When he resisted, the suspect fled from the restaurant with the meal without paying for it. Using the vehicle number of the suspect, they managed to identify and track him. They arrested him from his house and detained him in police custody for necessary legal action against him.

Birth cert for sale: The e-Crimes Department of the Ministry of Interior is looking into an issue of fraud involving an Egyptian who is offering for sale on eBay internet site a Kuwaiti birth certificate for $19.75, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said an unidentified citizen by chance happened to see the advertisement on the website and immediately informed the e-Crimes Department. When the Al-Anba daily made a phone call to the owner of the birth certificate, he admitted it belongs to him and has promised to take legal action against the person for publishing it on the website.

64 piracy attempts: Over the past few days some companies and banks in Kuwait were subjected to 64 piracy attempts and the issued forced these companies and banks to allocate more funds for the development of info systems, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily did not give more details.
