KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: The Ministry of Education terminated two Kuwaiti teachers, who have been in service for about 16 years, based on a letter from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) which recommended the termination of these teachers, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources from the educational sector.

Sources told the daily that the two teachers completed their studies outside the country in 2004.  When they returned to the country, the Ministry of Higher Education accredited their certificates; hence, they were hired as teachers, sources added.

Sources disclosed the ministry was surprised upon receiving the CSC’s letter recommending the termination of the teachers after all these years of employment on grounds that their appointment was illegal.  Sources said the ministry immediately implemented the recommendation of the commission, prompting the two teachers to file a case and demand for their employment rights.
