A-team to take on terror – Interior forms specialized strike force

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: Ministry of Interior has formed a team of specialized officers to fight terrorism and confront those affiliated to extremist groups due to the ongoing terror activities in the Middle East region as well as in some other parts of the world, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources. They explained this strike force consist of trained personnel equipped with advanced weapons.

A joint control room has been established for this team that will coordinate with teams from State Security, Investigations, Operations and Traffic sectors. They will be provided with helicopters to conduct surveillance, follow up events and pursue any suspect by air.

The sources stressed that the team has high defense and attacking abilities such that they can break into any place within a short time, affirming that they have all the support and necessary requirements to be effective in their tasks. They also affirmed that the team will be under direct supervision of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad.
