KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5, (Agencies): The Court of Appeals has decided to overturn the 7-year imprisonment sentence for a young man who was charged with stealing a teacher’s bank card to buy coffee at a store and refuel his vehicle. Instead, they have opted not to impose any punishment on him.

The Court of Appeals overturned the 7-year sentence for a young man who was charged with stealing his teacher’s bank card.

The prosecution had initially charged the defendant with forgery of an official document after he used the stolen card to purchase coffee for himself and his friends, totaling 19 Kuwaiti dinars. He had also used the card to refuel his vehicle at a gas station.

Following the initial court’s ruling, which sentenced the defendant to 7 years in prison, he appealed the decision, and a teacher testified in favor of the accused. Consequently, the Court of Appeals has decided to annul the imprisonment sentence and refrain from imposing any punishment.
