KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for General Security Affairs Major General Faraj Al-Zoubi stressed the importance of adhering to the health controls during the two hours break from curfew which is initially for walking or jogging as specified by the Council of Ministers.

The senior official said people must wear masks and adhere to social distancing unlike what is seen in some areas where people have wrongly understood the purpose of the two-hour ‘walking’ permission because most of them are seen at street corners talking to each other.

Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh wears a deserted look during the curfew hours. All checkpoints have been lifted in the area and Mahboula but curfew is observed here like other parts of the country.

He added, the Ministry of Interior is obliged to implement the law, and called for respecting law and order and avoiding street fights. Al-Zoubi told the ministry in the coming days will increase its presence in several areas especially Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Khaitan, Mahboula, Bneid Al-Qar and other areas where the ministry feels the presence is required.

He drew the attention to the keenness of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Al-Saleh and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Issam Al-Nahham for the security authorities to carry out the tasks entrusted to them and implement the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the ban accurately and at the same time taking into account the humanitarian aspects and providing the necessary requirements in all regions without exception.

He stressed that going down to buy bread or replace gas would be on foot without using any vehicle and that work was underway to cover most areas in all governorates.
