KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Following the escape of domestic workers to their home countries after committing crimes (felonies) the Interior Ministry is studying the possibility of making the sponsor’s or representative’s written consent mandatory for travel, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.

The sources said the Interior Ministry will oblige the sponsor or his/her representative to sign a document at a local police station in his/her area permitting the domestic worker to leave.

The signed document will then be attached to the passport of the worker which will have to be produced at the immigration counter before departure.
