BERLIN, Aug 19 (KUNA) — Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said his country is committed to the Arab Peace Initiative as a resolution to the Middle East crisis and rejects any unilateral action by Israel.
“The Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia) is committed to peace on the basis of the Arab peace plan and considers any unilateral steps made by Israel as an impediment to the peace process,” he told a press conference in Berlin alongside his German counterpart Heiko Maas.
The Arab Peace Initiative, announced in Beirut in 2002, prevents Arab states from normalizing relations with Israel, unless the latter recognises Palestinian rights guaranteed by international law to the Palestinians.
