Saudi Arabia reintroduces face masks, social distancing rules amid COVID surge

RIYADH, 30 Dec: Saudi Arabia has announced that wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines will be mandatory in all indoor and outdoor events and activities. According to the Saudi Press Agency, an official source from the ministry said the decision was made by the country’s health authorities due to the surge in Covid-19 cases, measures are subject to continuous assessment by specialized health institutions in Saudi Arabia. Over 50.1 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.

They also highlighted the importance of adhering to all preventive and protective measures to preserve the health of citizens and residents. Those who violate the protocols may face legal penalties. People living in Saudi Arabia are being urged to follow the new protocols in order to avoid facing legal penalties for failing to adhere to the precautionary measures.
