BASED on a crystal-clear and distinctive vision, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid is planning the way to the future that Kuwait deserves to have. He has placed his finger on the main source of pain – lax administration, which was one of the reasons behind the spread of corruption. Another reason is poor planning to contain the new graduates which eventually added a heavy burden on the state and public funds in the recent years.

His Highness the Prime Minister is following the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the demands of the citizens.

However, the resistance from the beneficiaries of such lax administration, with the numbers of those occupying mid-level administrative positions estimated at 80,000 according to His Highness the Prime Minister, is expected to be strong. Therefore, this matter requires some kind of accurate surgery and high-effect medication in order to stop Kuwait from sliding into the tunnel in which other neighboring countries are stuck.

We received glad tidings from His Highness the Prime Minister during his meeting with the editors-in-chief of local newspapers. He stressed the importance of separation among authorities so that none of them will dominate the other, especially after citizens fell in the trap of frustration when they saw the government submitting to the MPs on numerous occasions as if the latter are the leaders of the executive authority.

His Highness the Prime Minister talked decisively about the need to enhance cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities, implying that this must be in accordance with equal standards without the need for the government to abandon its stances before the MPs in order to avoid any imbalances.

By adopting such a vision, Kuwait will become capable of overcoming obstacles, thanks to the high-level awareness of the senior officials, as long as good intentions exist and the relations between the two authorities are not against the interest of the public funds and the citizens’ rights; otherwise, these relations will transform into a devastating tool.

Since His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid is not the target of any suspicions, he does not fear in approaching the issues clearly. He believes that an urgent start to restructuring the government system is the foundation for confronting corruption, and nothing else can lead to the construction of a modern state.

In order for citizens to be a partner in both responsibility and solution, His Highness the Prime Minister urged them to submit the evidences they have about corruption. This will stop any kind of random distribution of accusations with the aim of gaining some fame by framing innocent people.

It has become clear that the directives issued by His Highness the Amir to the members of the executive and legislative authorities are now on the course of action. Nevertheless, the most important part is the commitment of the ministers to the plan established by His Highness the Prime Minister that aims to pull Kuwait out from a place of stagnancy and make it progress forward.

While heading forward towards the desired future, Kuwait must take advantage of the major positive changes being witnessed in the GCC countries, aiming for its powerful voice to reach the entire world.

Depending on such a foundation, we can say that opportunity is available to everyone to transform wishes and ambitions into reality. The achievements accomplished by some neighboring countries can be achieved by Kuwait, provided the executive authority is keen to avoid errors and refrain from succumbing to parliamentary blackmail.

Such achievements can be realized by Kuwait if the National Assembly bore exceptional responsibility and if the MPs gave up the mentality of investing in the problems of the citizens.

As a matter of fact, His Highness the Prime Minister has an exceptional opportunity to use his diplomatic experience and awareness of the other nations’ cultures for approaching the national issues. His experiences play a part in his clear-cut vision of what Kuwait should be. This vision represents hope for the Kuwaiti citizens to exit the dark tunnel and prevent issues from worsening like they did in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and other Arab and Islamic countries.

Kuwaiti citizens are asked to be patient and support His Highness the Prime Minister so that they do not end up becoming tools in the hands of evil people who target Kuwait.
