‘Ration’ food center officials probed for corruption

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has shut down a food supply center of one of the cooperative societies in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate after a director of the center was accused of corruption, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The sources said, the main accused and all his accomplices have been referred to the Public Prosecution. According to sources close to the issue, all surplus goods which were not received by the citizens were sold in the black market to what the authorities called ‘outsiders’. The sources added, the goods were sold by an Asian on behalf of the director of the center.
