Qadsia win HH Crown Prince Cup for 9th time

Al-Qadsia Football Club won HH the Crown Prince Cup for the ninth time in the club’s history after defeating Al-Kuwait Football Club (The Dean) 7-6 in a penalty shootout after the regulated and extra-time ended 1-1 draw. In the game played at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium Tuesday evening. Syrian-born Hamid Medo put Al-Kuwait ahead in the 32nd minute but the Brazilian Tiago Silver equalised for Al-Qadsia in the 85th minute.

Al-Qadsia players who scored for their team included Bader Al-Mutawa, Khalid Ibrahim, Tiago Silva, Ahmad Al-Reyahi, Dhari Sa’eed and Abdullah Mawi, while Seif Al-Hashan missed the first penalty kick. On the side of Al-Kuwait Club, Bahaa Faisal, Hussein Hakim, Sami Al-Sane’, Abdullah Al-Braiki, and Mohammad Camara scored in favor of the club, while Talal Al-Fadhel and Jumah Sa’eed missed the first and seventh penalty kicks.

His Highness the Crown Prince presented the trophy to Al-Qadsia captain Bader Al-Mutawa after the game. Al-Kuwait players were handed silver medals, while Al-Arabi and Al-Nasr club players that tied at the third position received bronze medals each.
