Project bidding for 5th Ring Road delayed

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Ministry of Public Works had put on hold the bidding for the Fifth Ring Road project following a major controversy between the Ministry and the Central Tenders Committee, reports Al-Rai daily.

Informed sources told the daily, “the committee in charge of studying Tender Documents No. 257 has completed its work and submitted its recommendation to the Central Tender Committee and awarded the tender to the second lowest bidder.

The committee is expected to complete soon its work on Tenders 260 and 261. The sources pointed out that the ministry had asked the CTC earlier to exclude companies that have been proven ineligible, after re-considering their qualification documents, according to the documents approved from the list of 68 companies that have been previously declared qualified and the list of the 51 companies announced in the Official Gazette in 2010 and amended in 2012
