KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: The Public Prosecution will soon endorse the list of 17 prisoners who were granted parole after meeting certain conditions; such that they will complete their prison sentence at home by using the electronic bracelet technology for the authorities to monitor their compliance with the conditions for early release, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a source. The source said the beneficiaries are males of different nationalities who were sentenced to less than three years in prison for committing various crimes; such as beating, breach of trust and others that are not considered serious offenses. The source disclosed the list will be evaluated next week or the week after at the latest, as a prelude to its submission to the Correctional Institutions Sector for implementation. The source added this is first electronic bracelet project for prisoners in the country and the beneficiaries were selected based on certain criteria, including the inmate’s commitment and good conduct while in prison.
