Online service eyed to amend status of workers suspended during corona crisis

KUWAIT CITY, May 25: In light of the announcement made by the Minister of Justice and State Minister for Integrity Enhancement Jamal Al-Jalawi, an electronic platform will soon be launched to amend the conditions of workers who were subjected to circumstances resulting from the suspension of some facilities and companies due to the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Aljarida daily.

He stressed that this platform will be intended for workers registered with companies and establishments operating in the private sector only, adding that it will not include domestic workers who hold Article No. 20 visa. Regarding the launch date of the platform, Al-Jalawi revealed that this will happen soon after the completion of some procedures in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. He affirmed his keenness to control and regulate the labor market, and fill any shortage it suffers from, especially in the field of craft and professional employment.
