No more fatalities due to rainfall: MoI

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12, (KUNA): The Ministry of Interior has dismissed social media reports about an increase in the number of deaths caused by the heavy rainfall which engulfed the country Friday.

In a press statement, the ministry stressed that the severe weather conditions had left only one fatality. The circulated social media reports about the death of several people due to the rainfall were totally fabricated, the statement added.

The Ministry of Interior denied on Friday recent reports posted via social media on the possibility of using warning sirens in all around the country, affirming the report is baseless and non-credible.

MoI, therefore, calls on social media users to ensure accuracy of the information before posting it, or contact the ministry’s public relations and security media department to seek credible information. The ministry is available around the clock to answer any question or inquiry, it affirmed.
