Municipality seizes tons of expired food in many raids; Police vehicle used for personal work

KUWAIT CITY, July 13: The Department of Public Relations at Kuwait Municipality announced that its emergency teams issued a total of 443 citations and confiscated and destroyed 3.571 tons of foodstuffs deemed unfit for human consumption in a recent inspection tour of various governorates.

The teams removed 3,093 advertisements of various sizes, issued 48 warnings against State property encroachments and 5 violation tickets for selling expired foodstuffs, 10 violations for expired health licenses, and 11 violations for amending construction plan without obtaining the approval of concerned authorities in the municipality.

Statement added the inspection campaign will continue over an indeterminate period to ensure adherence to regulations of the Municipality.

Work rules violated: A policeman will be summoned for interrogation because a police vehicle was seen parked in the car shed of his home during working hours, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a security source. It is believed the man is using the police vehicle for his personal work. The source added, a disciplinary action will be taken against the policeman for violating the police code which prevents the use of office car for running personal errands. The source added, the picture of the car parked in the man’s car shed went viral in the social media.
