MPW prepares for digital transformation

Ministry provides 11 electronic services

KUWAIT CITY, May 29: Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Rana Al-Faris, stated the Info Systems Center at the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) is preparing a plan for the digital transformation of the ministry and is now in the stage of collecting data from different sectors so that the administration can evaluate and analyze the data on the status of the Road Map during the coming months. This came in reply to a query by MP Dr Muhammad Al-Huwailah, a copy of which has been obtained by the Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Faris explained at the moment the MPW provides 11 electronic services which include the possibility of submitting complaints related to roads, rain, sanitary engineering problems and the possibility of following up on the status of those complaints, as well as recording or updating details of a contractor, office or consulting house, in addition to registering and qualifying a supplier and submitting a request for services related to the sanitary engineering affairs.

She added among the electronic services is the submission of a request for the delivery of triple or quadruple treated water, the payment of fees for services, as well as the submission of complaints from a citizen service center, in addition to submitting emergency works complaints (on hotline 150), as well as the payment of fees for the tests, quality control and research. She indicated work is underway to launch an accreditation request application service provided by the Quality Control Department of the Government Center, examinations, quality control and research, as it is expected to be launched soon upon completion of some user observations and that the Info Systems Center is in the process of developing a special application for smartphones to include all the services that are provided by the ministry to the public.
