KUWAIT CITY, June 6: A 12-yearold bedoun child who was selling roses on Damascus Street died after being run over by a motorist, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily added, the victim was rushed to the Amiri Hospital but he was declared dead upon arrival. His remains have been referred to Forensics. According to a security source, the victim was selling flowers at a traffic signal and was hit by a vehicle. The case has been registered as an accident.

In a related context, Dr. Maitham Hussein said on his Twitter account after the child was hit by the car, “I and a young Kuwaiti woman tried to resuscitate the child, but unfortunately he died of his injuries at the Amiri Hospital during the second attempt at resuscitation. I wonder for how long the bedoun have to suffer in the country of humanity.” Dr. Hussein with a heavy heart added in the child’s pocket there were 8 dinars, the proceeds from the fl owers which he had sold. A person close to the child said that the owner of the house had expelled the family from the house they lived in and this prompted the child to sell fl owers to help his family meets the ends.
