Stringent traffic campaigns yield multiple arrests and vehicle confiscations on Thursday, Feb 2.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: In a determined effort to curb traffic violations and ensure road safety, the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait executed a series of targeted campaigns on Thursday, February 1, 2024. The comprehensive operations resulted in the issuance of a staggering “3,309” various traffic violations, demonstrating the authorities’ commitment to maintaining order on the roads.

During the day, nine individuals were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and one person was directed to the Traffic Police, underscoring the seriousness with which the department addresses traffic-related offenses. Two wanted persons were also apprehended as a result of these operations, further emphasizing the effectiveness of the initiatives.

The intensified campaigns led to the seizure of six vehicles, all of which were promptly impounded, adding an extra layer of consequence for those who failed to comply with traffic regulations. Additionally, 42 nuisance noise violations were recorded, highlighting the department’s dedication to addressing various aspects of road safety.

Furthermore, the operations resulted in the confiscation of 16 wanted vehicles, the issuing of 107 radar violations, and arresting an individual violating residency laws. Four individuals were also apprehended for lacking proper documentation.

The General Traffic Department emphasized its ongoing commitment to conducting rigorous campaigns, leaving no room for leniency when enforcing traffic laws. Authorities stressed the importance of adherence to these regulations to ensure the safety of all road users. As the department continues its efforts, it remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the rule of law on Kuwait’s roads.
