KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued recently “A guide to the services and procedures of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry” in an advanced step to facilitate and explain the services provided by the ministry to the visitors, reports Al-Anba daily. The issuance of this new guide is aimed to keep pace with the development in the ministry’s services and electronic infrastructure as well as to provide high-quality services. It is the product of the work that has continued for years within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the direct directives of the minister of commerce and industry.
The guide provides all the offered transactions, their description, the method of completion, and the time required to complete them, which would reduce the margin of personal judgment on the visitors. It would be an important reference for clients, initiators and ministry employees in a concise and easy way for all transactions, which will positively reflect on the quality of services provided and the speed of their completion. The mission of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is to contribute to advancing economic development and achieving consumer welfare, making Kuwait a hub for trade movement in the Arabian Gulf region, and confirming its pioneering role in the regional trade exchange movement and its global role to achieve a national economic balance.
Former minister Al-Roudhan in a speech during the issuance of the guide, affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to achieve Kuwait 2035 vision, and to prepare its facilities by developing the infrastructure for electronic and digital services, which recorded a quantum leap in terms of developing electronic services within the ministry, after adopting the journey of transformation into a digital future. He explained that the ministry is keeping abreast with the technological developments it launched four years ago with the start of the Kuwait Business Center – the Single Window.
This brought together the concerned authorities and companies in one place, and facilitated the effort and reduced the time for completing the transactions of the business community and companies in 2017.
The ministry worked during these years to embark quickly on the train of mechanization and digitization of the services provided to companies and individual visitors, in an effort to improve the local business environment and increase Kuwait’s competitiveness as a promising market. The development model adopted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry towards digitization took a wide step in the development of electronic and digital services that it had achieved based on the strategy that it had set in mind to advance all sectors and provide highquality services to companies and entrepreneurs.
