KUWAIT CITY, July 18: With the start of the first lessons of the “educational loss compensation” project for students this week, educational sources affirmed that the passport departments in the six educational zones have completed 4,500 residency renewal transactions for teachers working in government schools, reports Aljarida daily. They explained that the Ministry of Education has transferred the responsibility for the renewal of the teachers’ residencies to the educational zones, which started these procedures on June 17. The educational districts received teachers according to prearranged appointments.

About 50 teachers were received daily throughout the week. The Ministry of Interior has allocated three desks for three employees in each educational district to complete these transactions. The work in the Passport Department in the ministry’s head office has been ongoing to complete the transactions of its employees and other central departments. Their residencies are being renewed through this department. The sources highlighted that the Ministry of Education has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Interior to renew the residencies of its workers for a period of two years instead of one year only.
