Secretary General of Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) Fawzi Al-Majdali
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: Secretary- General of Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) Fawzi Al-Majdali stressed the importance to continue the financial support offered to Kuwaiti employees of the private sector, indicating that there is no intention to suspend or cancel this support, reports Al-Anba daily. He said the increase in the number of citizens working in the private sector from 14,000 in 2001 to more than 70,000 this year serves as sufficient evidence for non-suspension of the support. When asked about the merger of MGRP and the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Al-Majdali disclosed that the merger will be completed by in May next year, indicating that the two authorities have separate budgets in the current fiscal year until the end of April 2018.He affirmed that the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the administrative structure of the new entity after the merger and has forwarded it to the Civil Service Council for approval and eradication of all hurdles.Al-Majdali indicated that it is common after a merger to witness a phase of recruitment. He explained that CSC is currently studying the new organizational structure and making sure the employees of the two merged authorities are treated equally in order to ensure there are no differences between them in the future. This will be solved within the few coming weeks. When asked about who will head the newly formed entity, Al-Majdali said no names have surfaced yet and can be expected only after the completion of the merger, adding that the decision is solely the authority of the Council of Ministers which will choose the best fitting and qualified candidate.
