Development
He highlighted to the recent development of several services, the most important of which is the electronic linking system for patient results with the Sahel app, which allows immediate access of test results to the patient, and facilitates the follow-up of his health condition with the treating physician, and the completion of the electronic linking service for requests for laboratory materials between hospitals and warehouses. It also facilitates the process of ordering consumables quickly and effectively and tracking the amount of need and demand.

The minister explained that the ministry has provided modern technologies that keep pace with global development and allow specialized analyzes to be performed and serve an important segment of patients, most notably mass spectrometry devices, which are used with multiple technologies in some hospitals such as the Amiri Hospital, the Addiction Center, and the Yacoub Behbehani Center. About 15 specialists from inside and outside Kuwait participated in the conference, highlighting the latest discoveries and developments in the field of medical laboratories by reviewing the latest technologies in the field of advanced devices and the latest applications of artificial intelligence and their role in improving analytical quality and effective management of medical laboratories.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Council of Medical Laboratory Departments and the President of the conference Dr. Ibtisam Al- Jumaa said, “Biochemistry laboratories bear a great responsibility in providing vital data that represents the basis of diagnosis and treatment, and represents the basic foundation that helps us accurately understand the condition of patients and determine the necessary steps for effective medical intervention. Biochemistry laboratories are considered the third eye that sees what cannot be seen with the naked eye.

They receive samples of blood, urine, and bodily fluids for analysis with extreme accuracy. Not only that, but these laboratories also provide comprehensive analysis of organ function indicators and hormone tests. Under the umbrella of laboratories are specialized clinics that are considered a turning point in the world of health care, providing unique services and receiving all patients from health facilities. As a clinic for diagnosing and treating high blood fats at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Heart Center, it has contributed significantly to reducing heart attacks, atherosclerosis, and strokes.” She praised the pivotal and major role played by the laboratories of the Ghanima Al-Ghanim Center for Genetic Diseases and Al-Sabah Hospital, which work hand in hand with effort and dedication to provide care and early diagnosis of newborns, and offer the initial screening service for all newborns, and confirmatory analysis to examine newborns suspected of having a genetic disease.

Efficiency
Dr. Al-Jumaa praised the laboratories of Mubarak Specialized Hospital, which work diligently to serve all hospitals in the country, as they conduct and analyze with high efficiency and provide specialized hormonal analysis, which the Sabah Hospital partners with providing them accurately and professionally to diagnose and follow up on health conditions effectively. She indicated that other laboratory stations are unique in providing exceptional services, such as Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital laboratories for examining special proteins in the blood, blood analysis that serves cancer patients, and cerebrospinal fluid examination for diagnosing cases of multiple sclerosis, as well as the laboratory of the Yacoub Behbehani Center and others.

Dr. Al-Jumaa said the conference discussed several topics, such as the effective management of medical laboratories and consumption policies in medical analyses, ensuring the quality of analyses through continuous auditing and monitoring of the performance of devices, and reviewing modern trends in clinical biochemistry analyzes and modern technologies such as mechanization and the use of artificial intelligence, which contributes significantly to improving the quality of work and medical services.
