KUWAIT CITY, June 10: In a recent verdict, the Criminal Court, under the leadership of Counselor Mutaib Al-Ardhi, has sentenced a citizen to five years in prison and imposed a fine of 263 thousand dinars. The defendant was found guilty of defrauding another citizen and assuming a false job title within a government agency. He deceived the victim into providing a house and a chalet under the pretext of his employment, along with false promises of marriage, after they initially connected through social media platforms. Additionally, he exploited the victim's social security benefits, extracting sums of money from it.
As part of the ruling, the court has ordered the confiscation of the funds obtained through fraudulent activities, ensuring the victim's rights are upheld in the process.
