Lebanese woman jailed 4 years for killing mother

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: The Court of Cassation sentenced a 40-year-old Lebanese woman to four-year imprisonment with hard labor for killing her 60-year-old mother. The Public Prosecution took the suspect to court in September after she was charged with the alleged premeditated murder of her mother inside their residence in Keifan area.

The suspect claimed that her mother died a natural death, but investigation revealed otherwise. After intensive interrogation, she confessed that the death was due to physical attack on the mother over a family feud, adding that one of the causes of the fight was her mother’s refusal to visit the burial site of her father, whom she loves dearly. She denied the premeditated murder allegation, saying it happened by accident as she never meant to snuff out her mother’s life.
