KUWAIT CITY, March 16: The search for a Kuwaiti woman in her 30s, who was reported missing one month ago by her mother, has ended following the discovery of her corpse inside a sleeping bag and buried in Salmi desert area. The victim’s husband has been arrested after he confessed to her murder.

According to security sources, the victim’s mother had filed a missing case at Firdous Police Station, stating that her daughter has been missing since February 10 when she failed to return home from her office.
Securitymen called her husband on his mobile phone which turned out to be switched off. A search ensued, and eventually the victim’s corpse was discovered inside a sleeping bag that was buried in Salmi desert area where stray dogs are frequently seen.

The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department for autopsy to determine the cause. Securitymen launched investigations to locate the victim’s husband, and eventually managed to find him.

During interrogations, he confessed to murdering his wife. He explained that he had murdered her on February 10, the same day when her mother reported that her daughter failed to return home. He found his wife at a cooperative society, and he took her to a desert area in Salmi.

During an argument between them, he hit her several times on the head with an iron rod until she died. He then placed the corpse inside a sleeping bag and loosely buried her in an area among stray dogs. Securitymen discovered that the suspect is wanted by law for his involvement in drug-related cases as well as financial fraud. He has been referred to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action.
