KUWAIT CITY, June 15: The Court of First Instance has ordered Public Authority for Disability (PAD) to pay a Kuwaiti man partial blindness allowance for maid or driver retroactively. In a lawsuit filed on behalf of the plaintiff, Lawyer Ali Al-Ali said that his client has been partially blind since childhood and has a file with the Higher Council for Disability.

A card was issued for the plaintiff but his name was suddenly removed from the list of disables. He had to file a case to ensure the name was re-included in the list with all attendant effects.

He reiterated that a previous ruling from the Court of Cassation was in favor of his client. In the meantime, the Court of Cassation overturned the verdict issued by a lower court against a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of selling brain stimulants and resisting arrest and was sentenced to lifeimprisonment. The court instead acquitted him.
