Martyrs captured by Iraq in 1990

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22, (KUNA): Kuwait identified remains belonging to seven Kuwaiti prisoners of war (POWs) or missing persons after conducting DNA tests by the General Administration of Criminal Evidence, said Director-General of the National Committee of POWs and Missing Affairs Rabie Al-Adsani Sunday.

The committee affirmed that the remains belong to: 1- Meshaal Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi2- Barjas Bilal Al-Khaldi 3- Salem Rashed Al-Duwseri 4- Waleed Ibrahim Al-Jeeran 5- Munther Numaan Al-Saif 6- Hussein Ali Al-Qabandi 7- Khaled Faraaj Al-Duwseri Al-Adsani said that these prisoners had been arrested during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

He also noted that the foreign ministry informed the martyrs’ families immediately after the end of the genetic examination process of all information related to the results of identification and procedures. Al-Adsani thanked the Iraqi authorities and the members of the tripartite and technical subcommittee and the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) for their efforts through the work of the subcommittee
