Emergency phone numbers to facilitate return

BEIRUT, Sept 1, (KUNA): Kuwait Embassy in Beirut called on Kuwaiti nationals who hold return tickets on Wataniya Airways flights to contact the embassy to arrange their return after cancellation of their flights from Beirut to Kuwait. Kuwait Airways, the national flag carrier, added two flights to Kuwait as of Saturday, for the Kuwaiti passengers after Wataniya cancelled some of its flight, according to a statement issued by the Embassy late Friday.

The Embassy affirmed that it made all necessary arrangements in this regard, and invited the Kuwaiti passengers to contact it via the phone numbers: 0096171171441, and 009613072227. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said Friday Kuwait Airways would send an additional flight to Baku, Azerbaijan, to bring back Kuwaiti citizens whose returning flights on Wataniya Airways were cancelled.

Flight KU 1194 sent at the request of the government would fly at 8:00 am, DGCA said in a statement, and urged citizens in Baku to contact Kuwait Consulate in the Azeri capital to arrange their return on following numbers: (+994) 502-330-536 or (+994) 509-999- 661.

Kuwait Airways would dispatch a plane to Tbilisi at 3:10 am Saturday to bring back citizens from the Georgian capital. Minister of State for Housing and Minister of State for Services Jenan Bushehri said last week His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah instructed the Foreign Ministry and DGCA to bring back Kuwaitis stranded after cancellation of flights on Wataniya Airways.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said it was also coordinating with Kuwait Airways to send an additional flight to Tbilisi, Georgia, to bring back Kuwaiti citizens whose returning flights on Wataniya Airways were cancelled.

Flight KU 1192, sent at the request of the government, would fly at 3:10 am, DGCA said in a statement, and urged citizens in Tbilisi to contact Kuwait Consulate in the Georgian captial to arrange their return on following number: (+995) 556-862-7160.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday urged citizens with flight tickets from Wataniya Airways abroad namely in Beirut, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Baku, Sarajevo, Malaga and Athens to get in contact with the Kuwaiti Embassy and Consulate to arrange for a returning trip back home. A statement by the Ministry explained the framework of the government’s efforts in cooperating with the concerned authorities for this situation and allocate the following emergency numbers to assist citizens and provide support to facilitate and ensure their comfort and safety in the light of the national lines of cancellation and delay on flights.
