Kuwait embassies in Oman, Belgium mark National Days

Ambassador delighted to celebrate nat’l occasions

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Ambassador to Oman Dr Sulaiman Al-Harbi has held an official ceremony marking the 58th National Day and the 28th Liberation Day.

Speaking to KUNA on this occasion, Al-Harbi conveyed congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as well as the Kuwaiti government and people.

The ambassador expressed his great delight at celebrating these national occasions.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of Arab and foreign ambassadors and diplomatic missions in Oman as well as Kuwaitis studying in the Sultanate.

In addition, some Omani ministers, businessmen, Shura Council MPs, media people and other senior officials at the Sultanate were present at the event.

Meanwhile, the embassy of Kuwait in the Belgian capital held a reception to celebrate the 58th National Day and 28th Liberation Day Anniversary of Kuwait.

Kuwait’s ambassador to Belgium and head of mission to the European Union and NATO, Jasem Al Budaiwi, welcomed the large number of guests and thanked them for their participation in Kuwait’s celebrations.

“It is with great honour and great pleasure that I convey to  His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah my deepest congratulations and heartfelt admiration on this occasion,” Al Budaiwi told the Kuwait news agency, KUNA.

“Kuwait continues to shine, continues to emerge as a civilized, humane country that not only cares for its own people but also plays a great role and makes a lot of effort to preserve the security and stability of other nations in the region,” he said.

Al Budaiwi noted that the huge number of people attending the reception shows how much Kuwait has influenced and has true friend who join celebrations days.

He expressed his appreciation that high dignitaries from Belgian government, EU institutions, NATO, Members of the European Parliament and Belgian deputies were in attendance.

Also many ambassadors from different parts of the world honoured us with their presence, he said.

“We the staff of the Kuwait embassy convey our congratulations to the people of Kuwait, the leadership, the government on this occasion,” said Al Budaiwi.

Earlier in his welcome speech to the guests, he referred to the strong and flourishing relations between Kuwait and Belgium as well as with the EU and NATO.

Stronger

“Thanks to all of you my dear friends whom have shown their belief in Kuwait, and extended support to strengthen the bridges between Kuwait and Europe, and explore new areas of cooperation to build a stronger future for our nations and the world,” he said.

“We have an exciting year of solid achievements ahead of us as Kuwait and Belgium have just held a very important political consultation that will play an important role in developing our relationship even further especially in the area of coordinating efforts in the UNSC,” said Al Budaiwi.

He expressed his happiness that the EU mission to Kuwait will be inaugurated this year, in 2019 cementing the strategic relations Kuwait and the EU enjoy. 

“Our mission to NATO was also inaugurated, thanks to the thorough work of our friends at NATO.

In addition the NATO-ICI Regional Center is now fully operational in Kuwait, another milestone of the strong partnership between Kuwait and NATO,” he noted.

Al Budaiwi said he is honoured to welcome Maestro Fawzi Allangawi, one of our best musicians in Kuwait and the Arab World.

Fawzi and his group entertained the guests with number of Kuwaiti classical songs as well as Belgian and international music.
