KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: Kuwait Club was crowned champion of the basketball Super Cup after they defeated Kazma with a score (76-72) at the Union Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah complex to win the first tournament of the season (2020-2021).
The first half saw tight contest between both teams as the first quarter ended in favor of Kuwait Club with a score of 20 points against 18 in second quarter of the match Kuwait Club was on lead by 32 to 31.
Both the teams performed well in the third and fourth quarter of the match, especially from the offensive aspect, and the players of the two teams took points, but the result was settled in the end with a close victory for Kuwait club with a difference of only four points.
Following the conclusion of the coronation ceremony, President of the Kuwaiti Basketball Federation Rashid Al-Enezi said in a statement to reporters that the federation is keen to organize its tournaments for this season regularly despite the delay in its launch due to the spread of the Corona virus.
Al-Enezi explained that the federation has completed all its technical, administrative and arbitration preparations for the launch of the general league championship, which will start on Sunday, considering that the succession of local tournaments is working to develop the game at the local level, “which will positively reflect on the improvement of the level of national teams.”
He praised the clubs ’continuous cooperation with Al-Ittihad,” which resulted in completing the previous season’s tournaments and preparing well for the current season, “congratulating the Kuwait club for winning the match and crowning this important tournament with good performance by its rival Kazma despite losing the championship.
