Kuwait Basketball League Championship ‘kicks off’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Al-Arabi and Al-Jahra teams beat their counterparts Al-Nasr and Al-Sahel respectively in a match within the Group 1 competitions of the Kuwait Basketball League Championship 2020-2021 season, in which 13 teams divided into two groups are participating, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In the first match, which was held at the Kuwait Basketball Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex, Al-Arabi defeated their opponents (Al-Nasr) with a score of 55-48 after a match from both sides, in which the defensive side was defeated by a variant of the weak points from the two teams.

As for the second match between Al-Jahra and Al-Sahel, which was also held at the same hall, it ended with a score of 74-48, and witnessed a clear dominance of Al-Jahra most of the time. It is worth mentioning that six teams have won the tournament, which began with the 1961/1962 sports season. Al-Qadisiya was crowned the most with 23 times, followed by Al-Kuwait 11 times, Al- Kazema nine times, Al-Arabi eight times, Al-Jahra five times, and Al- Sahel once.
