KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) confirmed that due to bad weather conditions, a minor fire broke out in the well from which the oil leak was recorded in the operations area in West Kuwait last Monday, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The company said its fire brigade, in cooperation with Kuwait Firefighting Force (KFF), dealt with the fire incident according to the procedures followed by the company. It added there were no injuries recorded at the site, as all the necessary steps were taken to extinguish the fire — one of the expected scenarios after the oil spill. The company also clarified that its operations in the area were not affected and are proceeding as planned.
