Players in action during the Kuwait Volleyball League.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The Kazma Club's first volleyball team is on a quest for its inaugural victory in the league. The team is set to face Al-Shabab in the second round at 7:15 pm in the Al-Ittihad Hall within the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. Simultaneously, Burgan and Al-Sahel will compete at 5:15 pm, and Yarmouk will face Sulaibikhat at 7:00 pm in Mishref.

Current standings show Al-Qadsia, Al-Arabi, and Al-Shabab teams leading with 3 points each, followed by Al-Kuwait and Burgan with 2 points. Kazma and Yarmouk trail with 1 point, while Al-Sahel, Al-Tadamon, and Sulaibikhat have yet to secure any points.

The tournament adopts an international point calculation system, where a 3-0 or 3-1 win awards the victor three points, and the loser receives none. A 3-2 win grants two points to the winner and one point to the loser.

Kazma, guided by Iranian coach Javad Shamami, aims to secure three points in today's match, seeking redemption after a narrow 2-3 loss to Kuwait in the initial match. Despite an inconsistent season in the Al-Ittihad Championship, where they finished fourth, and a Super Cup semi-final defeat to Al-Qadsia, Orange remains determined for a victorious journey.

Al-Shabab, having secured a well-deserved victory over Sulaibikhat in the first round, looks forward to a strong performance against a challenging opponent.

In the second match, Burgan eyes an opportune moment to clinch victory against Al-Sahel, while Yarmouk is poised for success against Sulaibikhat in the third match, considering the teams' previous confrontations.
