Italy bans Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, July 11 Italy Thursday banned the entry of people coming from 13 countries because of excessive rate of COVID-19 infections, reports Al-Rai daily quoting https:// www.reuters.com/

The list compiled by the its health ministry includes Kuwait, Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, North Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

The ban affects anyone who has stayed in or travelled through these countries during the last 14 days, Health Minister Roberto Speranza said in a statement.

Travelers from all other countries outside the European Union and the Schengen can enter Italy but must observe 14 days of quarantine on arrival.

The Ministry of Health recently concluded the COVID-19 swab testing for athletes at the Leadership Development Center through the mobile team in the Public Health Department, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry said the swab testing for the sports sector was in coordination with the Public Authority for Sports and Kuwaiti Olympic Committee; during which the team carried out 4,000 nasal-pharyngeal swab tests.
