KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Minister of Oil and Acting Minister of Electricity and Water Dr. Khaled Al-Fadhel did not issue instructions to the Ministry of Oil to fill the vacant positions particularly the supervisory positions, and he also did not transfer or delegate employees between authorities on October 5, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources.

They said the minister directed the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to immediately withdraw all the instructions issued in that regard, in compliance with circular No. 21/2020 issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The sources explained that all instructions or rather decisions issued by the Ministry of Electricity and Water on October 5 were withdrawn and considered "not issued in the first place" based on the aforementioned CSC circular. These decisions were based on previous approvals from the CSC.

They revealed that the Ministry of Electricity and Water is in the process of changing the shift system in some departments from 8 hours to 12 hours within this month in order to give workers greater flexibility to carry out tasks in some locations, adding that this step is being taken after the efficiency of the new shift system was proven when it was tested at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
