KUWAIT CITY, May 15: The Internet services provided by the three mobile operators witnessed a great development during 2021, especially in downloading and uploading via HTTP using 4G/5G networks, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to official data issued by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), the average download speed on the 4G network was 32 megabytes per second, and the average download speed on the 5G network was 110 megabytes per second, which is more than three times the speed of the 4G.
The average upload speed was 70 megabytes per second on the 4G network. The average upload speed on the 5G network recorded an increase of four times the speed of 4G, reaching about 328 megabytes per second.
The average time taken by networks in Kuwait to display the required browser and enter a specific website for the purpose of browsing ranges between six and nine seconds. This was lesser on YouTube, which took only 1.3 seconds for the appearance and playback of a video.
There are three online games that are played the most - FORTNITE, PUBG and FIFA21.
The response speed of those games varies. FIFA21 topped the list with 120 megabytes per second, followed by FORTNITE with an average of 65 megabytes per second, and then PUBG with an average of 60 megabytes per second.
