KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: The Hawalli securitymen have taken into custody, in record time, the Kuwaiti citizen (1993 born) who robbed a bank branch in Taima at knife-point Tuesday morning, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily said the citizen was arrested from an apartment in Hawalli where he was holed up after committing the crime. The Hawalli securitymen worked in coordination with the Jahra Investigations Department and arrested the thief within hours of committing the crime. The source added that the culprit was abnormal at the time of the arrest. He has been referred to the concerned authorities.

During interrogation the suspect stated that he committed this crime to pay of his debts. The suspect used a taxi and went to his brother's residence in Abdullah Al Mubarak area along with the cash. He left most of his money at his brother's residence in order to buy new clothes and a phone and deposit the remaining amount in his bank account which would apparently pay off his debts before heading to the Maidan Hawalli area where he rented an apartment to hide.

After being arrested he admitted committing the crime and did not know where the weapon (knife) was. The bank security guard identified him. The suspect has a history of crimes such as drug abuse, car thefts which were mostly in the Hawally and Farwaniya area. This was his first crime in Jahra.
