‘Health’ preparing list of its expat employees stranded abroad

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Ministry of Health is preparing lists of its employees who were unable to return to the country following measures taken by it in the aftermath of the corona pandemic. This confirms what was published by the Al-Seyassah daily the day before yesterday, about a government move to allow ‘health’ workers, teachers, wives of expatriates, and domestic workers from countries who have been prevented from entering the country because of the high rates of corona virus infection.
It is worth mentioning here the government of Kuwait based on instructions of the Kuwaiti health authorities due to the situation and repercussions caused by the spread of the coronavirus regarding ‘high-risk’ countries had regulated the entry of citizens from India, Iran, China, Brazil, Columbia, Armenia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Syria, Spain, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iraq, Mexico, Indonesia, Chile, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Italy, North Macedonia, Moldova, Panama, Peru, Serbia, Montenegro, Dominican Republic and Kosovo, from entering the country.
The Ministry of Health confirmed in a circular to health areas, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, to provide the ministry with the data including the full name and designation, the civil ID number of the employee, the work center, the specialty, the passport number, nationality and the country in which he/she resides, and the names of his relatives, if any, and whether or not the residence permit is valid for them.”
The source stated the data should be submitted within a week. For its part, informed sources told the daily the Cabinet will issue decisions during the meeting today, stating that the visit and domestic work visas be suspended until next October, as well as studying a proposal to do away with the 14-day quarantine period for the incoming people and to suffice with only the on the spot test to find out if the person is corona ‘positive’ or ‘negative’.
Those showing signs of infection to be ‘home’ quarantined. In the context, informed sources revealed there is a tendency to cancel the data certificate required of those who have renewed their residency while outside the country to return and be satisfied with the application of ‘my identity’.
