Guns, ammo seized; ATM machine stolen

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: A Kuwaiti man, wanted by law for involvement in several criminal cases and evaded a three-year prison term, was arrested in Sabahiya for the possession of unlicensed weapons and ammunition. In a press statement, the General Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry revealed that its Investigation and Search Unit received information about the citizen who owns unlicensed weapons and ammunition. Securitymen raided the citizen’s home in Sabahiya where they found several weapons and ammunition. Investigations revealed he was involved in various cases and had earlier been sentenced to three years in jail but he evaded arrest.

ATM machine stolen: Police officers from Sulaibiya Security Command, led by Sulaibiya Police Station Chief Captain Saleh Al-Shimmari, arrested two people who tried to open a stolen ATM machine, reports Al- Shahed daily.

According to sources, Al-Shimmari was tipped off on two people who brought the ATM machine of a local bank to Amghara scrap yard where they tried to open it. A team of police officers rushed to the area and then arrested the suspects. When the officers checked the machine, they found out it contained KD 14,000. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine how the suspects managed to take the machine.
