KUWAIT CITY, May 23, (KUNA): The 26th Gulf Cup football tournament is set to take place in Kuwait from December 21, 2024, to January 1, 2025, according to a recent announcement from a regional football authority.

The Arab Gulf Football Federation, in a statement released after a meeting of its executive council at its headquarters in Doha, disclosed this decision. Among the topics discussed during the meeting was the proposal to organize an exhibition showcasing memorabilia from past tournaments alongside the main event. Additionally, plans for the Gulf Clubs championship, slated for September 24 to April 25, 2025, were confirmed, with matches to be conducted on a home-and-away basis.

The council also reached an agreement to host the U-23 Gulf tournament in Kuwait this October. Furthermore, discussions encompassed arrangements for a Gulf futsal tournament, a women’s football championship, and various other competitions. The Arab Gulf Football Federation, comprising eight member states, was established in May 2016.
