Generate job opportunities for Kuwaitis – MP Safaa Al-Hashem

KUWAIT CITY, March 14:  MP Safaa Al-Hashem urged the Public Authority for Manpower to generate job opportunities for Kuwaitis. Addressing His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak, Al-Hashem asserted, “The corruption that saddens Your Highness is due to the lopsided population structure and recruitment of foreigners instead of citizens.” Al-Hashem said some people want to implicate HH the Prime Minister, adding that “whoever wrote the premier’s statement on corruption wants to implicate him due to the dilapidated administrative structure that contributed to the spread of corruption in the country.”

Furthermore, the Budgets and Final Accounts Committee on Wednesday tackled the allegation of the State Audit Bureau that the Council of Ministers usually decides in favor of government agencies  whenever there is a dispute between these agencies and the bureau.

Committee Chairman MP Adnan AbdulSamad said they agreed on the following: ask the Council of Ministers to investigate approved tenders which harmed public funds, identify the culprits, submit a report in this regard to the National Assembly, instruct the bureau to investigate tourism records and investment contracts to ensure compliance with the law

Committee discusses report on early retirement & retirees loan interests

The parliamentary Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on Wednesday discussed the report of the company tasked to study proposals regarding early retirement and reducing interest on loans granted to retirees.

Committee Chairman MP Salah Khorshid disclosed the report contains positive indicators which will be beneficial to retirees. He affirmed the committee will soon present alternatives in accordance with the law.

He said the committee and the government are keen on finalizing these two proposals, indicating the proposal to reduce interest on loans granted to retirees is expected to take effect in mid-April. He added the committee will meet the company early next month to present the final version of the proposal on early retirement in the presence of National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

He went on to say the committee will meet on Sunday to finalize deliberations on the Commercial Register Bill. He revealed the panel is still revising articles nine and 19 of the bill.
