KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: The Supreme Traffic Council Tuesday held a meeting based on directives of Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah concerning the need to find scientific, practical and radical solutions for dealing with the traffic problems in the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily.The meeting was presided over by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Traffic Council Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dousari. It was held in the presence of Undersecretary of Ministry of Public Works Eng Awatif Al-Ghunaim, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Haitham Al-Atari, Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Ahmad Al-Manfouhi and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Fahad Al-Shuwai’e among others.The items specified in the minutes of the previous meeting were presented during the meeting along with the opinion of a specialized technical committee comprising of representatives of Ministry of Public Works and Ministry of Interior over a proposal of Dr Fahad Al-Rukaibi for solving traffic problems and traffic congestions at intersections. The committee members praised the proposal and its applicability in Kuwait which can result in a significant impact in reducing traffic accidents.
