Female American diplomat assaulted

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The Ahmadi Research and Investigation Department of the Criminal Investigations Department is looking for an unknown person for assaulting a female US diplomat in the vicinity of a jogging track in Mahboula, reports Al-Anba daily.

However, a security source ruled out the attack is politically motivated especially since the victim was in the area jogging. The attack may have been linked to harassment of the like, say security sources.

The victim, who has identified herself as an US diplomat, has filed a complaint with the Abu Halifa Police Station.

She told the police station the incident happened when she was jogging in Mahboula and the suspect who appeared from nowhere and beat her. She has attached a medical report to the complaint.

In the meantime, the security authorities have requested to see the CCTV footage of nearby cameras to identify the suspect.
