KUWAIT CITY, Mar 17: Starting today, the deadline set by the residence affairs department for residency violators to rectify their status either by paying fines or departing the country commenced. The deadline is set until June 17, following the regulations established by the Ministry of Interior. Alseyassah / Arab Times has been monitoring the influx of visitors taking advantage of this grace period at the Hawalli Residency Affairs Department.

Security sources have confirmed that recent statistics indicate expats ranging from 120,000 to 140,000 with expired visas of various nationalities are residing in Kuwait illegally. It has been highlighted that the residency affairs departments across the six governorates, along with the violators' follow-up department within the General Administration of Residence Investigations, are receiving the violators or their sponsors addressing violations or financial fines incurred.
