KUWAIT CITY, March 4: A traffic officer was forced to fire a gun into the air to disperse a gang, led by the son of a former MP, performing dangerous car stunts in Salwa. When the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received report about the incident, a police patrol was dispatched to the location. The gang escaped but the police patrol apprehended one of the members who was led into the police vehicle. However, the other gang members came back and surrounded the officer and his partner to help the arrested member escape. The officer had no option but to fire a gun into the air to disperse the gang and then called for backup. One of the car stunt performers was driving a vehicle without plate number and he made some insulting gestures towards the officers. Investigations revealed he is the son of a former MP. Procedures to arrest him are under way and a case of insulting an officer on duty was filed against him. By Munaif Nayef Al-Seyassah Staff and Agencies
